Runtil

Until… Run ‘til your legs give out!

hard breath,

                wheezing lungs

trying to get somewhere, but somewhere never comes.

beyond the trees

                        lies the sun

there is no distance between

                                         these,

each a part of

                    The One.

folded hands in grace to the sky

the feet stand low with the head held high

but the balance, although, as above

                                                 so below.

hold out your hand, lend your eyes to your brother

or sister, during hard times.

to feel the connection makes it all worth living.

regardless of tears or blood

we remember we are not alone.

Not above and not below, all is right here

and none is

                alone.

a hand on your shoulder in times of grief

this too will pass

                       heart and mind shall meet.

Shit on a shingle

“The truth comes when you can see that your self image is just a convenient reference point and nothing more, and that you as you had imagined yourself do not exist.” -Brad Warner “Hardcore Zen”

“Realization (of the illusion of self as separate) doesn’t destroy the individual anymore that the reflection of the moon breaks a drop of water. A drop of water can reflect the whole sky.” -Dogen

Useful Tools

1. Raise energetic vibration: Cleanse and detoxify the mind, body and living environment. Harmonize with Mother Earth.

2. Dissolve inner identities: Become acquainted with inner identity filters which distort authentic expression. Disassociate from them and dissolve them.

3. Release restrictive relationships: cut the ties of old relationships which serve only to draw our consciousness back into former realities.

4. Forgive both others and ourselves: energetically confront those who may have mistreated us and forgive them. Forgive ourselves for past transgressions.

5. Develop strong spiritual practices: continually raise vibration and transmute the old consciousness. Open the chakras further, activate kundalini.

Exchange Economics

Exchange economics presupposes a one-dimensional scale of value, according to which everything can be appraised; if an avocado costs a dollar and a new sports car costs $20,000, than a new sports car must be worth exactly 20,000 avocados. But such equations are absurd. Can you calculate the financial value of a friendship, the exchange rate of a clever joke for a meal tenderly prepared, the comparative worth of the sound of birds singing in the trees against the current market value of lumber? Those who would measure such things miss everything that is beautiful and unrepeatable about them; once one recognizes this, it becomes clear how pathological such calculations are in any context. To assess the commercial value of experiences and sensations, let alone trade in the very lives of the human beings around you with an eye to your own advantage, is to flatten the world for yourself and everyone you touch.

Limbo

Waiting for my cousin to get home from work so we can drive up to Central for New Years but he was supposed to be here a while ago and his phone shut off. It’s 7:30 PM and it takes 3 hours to get there.I sure as fuck hope he is alright.

On another note, I finally feel that I am seeing straight. No need to go into detail, but I don’t need a crutch. Never did.

Firefighter’s Prayer

When I am called to duty, God

Wherever flames may rage

Give me the strength to save some life

Whatever be the age

Help me embrace a little child

Before it’s too late

Or save an older person from the horror of that fate

Enable me to be alert

And hear the weakest shout

And quickly and efficiently

To put the fire out

I want to fill my calling

And to give the best in me

To guard my every neighbor

And their property

And if according to my fate

I am to lose my life

Please bless with your protecting hand

My children and my wife

343 firefighters lost their lives on September 11th, 2001. In the countless horrible videos I saw of that day, every one of their faces were fearless and determined entering those doors of hell, knowing good chance they wouldn’t make it out alive: Joe Agnello, Lt. Ahearn, Michael Brennan (to name just a few); You have all inspired me in the deepest way. If I pray that anything catches like wildfire, it’s all of your courage and compassion spread to others’ hearts.

911 truth now!

The Tallest Man On Earth- A solo artist from Sweden. Very Bob Dylan-esque. I really enjoy this dude.

When the rich 20% of the world lay claim to about 80% of the world’s resources, leaving the poor 80% with 20% of the resources and billions in poverty, there can be no lasting peace until this exploitative imbalance and historical injustice are redressed.
